Art as a Breath of Calm in a Chaotic World

In a fast-paced world of endless words, I found my peace in colour. After years in the corporate grind, I rediscovered myself in the gentle, imperfect beauty of watercolour, where calm, creativity, and expression coexist in harmony. Each piece here is thoughtfully crafted to bring a breath of calm to your life, offering a moment of stillness, reflection, and inspiration amidst the noise. Welcome to a space where art isn’t just seen; it’s felt, uplifting the spirit with warmth and positivity.

My Story

In a world where words often come faster than thoughts, where the demands of work and life blur into a whirl, I found my refuge in colour. I’m someone who has always danced along the edges of words, seeing things in hues rather than letters.

As someone with ADHD and Dyslexia, the world of words never felt entirely like home - but painting, that was something else. In painting, I discovered something rare: calm - a place where time stood still.

For years, though, my world looked very different. I had a career I worked hard for, rising through the corporate ranks to lead my own department and working alongside truly remarkable people. It was thrilling and intense, the kind of work that never paused. I thrived on the fast pace, throwing myself into each project with laser-focused energy. But when you give so much of yourself, day after day, you sometimes lose sight of why you’re doing it. My creative spirit, my sense of balance, and, in a way, even my sense of self began to slip away.

I realised I had become so focused on chasing deadlines, constantly feeling I wasn’t good enough, and setting ever-higher standards in a cycle of perfectionism to prove to myself that I was capable (likely a touch of imposter syndrome). I masked my emotions, projecting the positive, proactive, and endlessly enthusiastic person others expected to see, because I always believed I could do anything (incredibly helpful, but also somewhat delusional!). I became so skilled at pretending I was okay that I almost lost sight of what ok actually looked like.

I had no energy or drive to pick up a paintbrush; in my downtime, all I wanted to do was sleep. Over time, I’d simply forgotten how creating art made me feel. I’d lost touch with the joy it brought to others and how this passion, something I loved, could make a meaningful difference not only for myself but for those around me.

Eventually, realising I was burnout, I knew I needed to change. So I decided to change my job, something a little slower paced so I could reclaim my time, and rebuild what had faded: my spark, my inner calm, my essence. In that quiet space, I reconnected with nature, finding calm in the colours of the world, and rediscovered self-expression through the gentle swirl of watercolour.

That’s how this journey began. I decided to create a space filled with art that brings calm into chaos, inspired by nature’s endless palette of colours. Now, I share that journey through my collection of contemporary watercolour artwork. Each piece is designed not only to be beautiful but to offer a sense of tranquility - a reminder to pause, breathe, and find joy in the simple moments.

This space isn’t just a store; it’s a reflection of my journey and an invitation to join it. Whether you’re here to find a piece that resonates or simply to take a breath, I hope my art brings you a moment of peace and inspires you to find your own essence in a world that rarely stands still.
